How do I sign up with ER Lawn Care?

Signing up with ER Lawn Care is easy on our online platform. Simply add your desired services to the cart and check out with your preferred payment method. You will get an email notification confirming your order as we begin processing your request.

Once we’ve confirmed your order, we will send you an onboarding email with instructions on how to access our client portal. This portal helps you interact with our staff and keep your services all in one place. You’ll also get a notification of when you can expect your first service to begin.

Please note that all orders placed outside of regular business hours will be processed the next business day. In addition, properties exceeding half an acre require a custom quote. This applies to commercial properties as well.

When does a mowing season begin and end each year?

Mowing season begins in the first few weeks of April each year. The last mowing services typically happen in the first or second week of November, depending on each property’s circumstances.
Once our mowing season is complete, we attend to customers signed up for leaf removal services to prepare for the winter weather ahead.

What is the typical mowing schedule?

ER Lawn Care mows at least once every 7 days during the springtime as your lawn grows. When the summer heat begins, we delay our mowing to a 7-14 day cycle. As the leaves fall, we return to our 7-day schedule until we wrap up mowing services in November.

When rainy conditions exist, our mowing schedule can be delayed up to 2 days, depending on the weather.

If you are members of our Fertilizer program and water your grass consistently, our services include mowing every 7 days.

When does ER Lawn Care perform the first in-season service?

Depending on when you complete the sign-up process, we aim to perform our first service within 24-72 business hours.

Part of our onboarding process includes locating your property and integrating it with our existing route. Your mowing day can fall between Monday and Friday, depending on what other properties we service in that area. Though we estimate our time of service in the beginning, this timeframe can be solidified once we determine how it fits into our established routine.

What time can I expect mowing to begin?

Typically, local laws require us to refrain from mowing before 7:00 a.m. due to noise ordinances. Our mowing schedule begins at or shortly before 7:30 a.m. on most days.

What is the ideal length of cut grass?

At ER Lawn Care, we set our mower decks to a height of 3.5 to 4 inches, depending on the season. For example, we use a deck height of 3.5 inches from April to May and the middle of October through the end of November. In June and the remaining summer months, we increase that deck height to 4 inches.

A mower deck height that’s too short can scalp the turf beneath the grass and cause lasting damage. Cutting more than one-third of the grass at a time can stress the grass out tremendously. At the same time, grass that’s too tall is susceptible to both disease and further weed growth.

As such, we’ve found that 3.5 to 4 inches is an ideal cutting height for all-season care.

What mowing equipment does ER Lawn Care use?

ER Lawn Care prefers Encore mowing machines. These machines are the best for leaving those tell-tale stripes in your grass that define a well-manicured lawn, such as those you would see at the Royals Stadium.

The size and weight of these mowers are also appropriate for performing lawn maintenance without permanently weighing down the grass or damaging existing irrigation systems.

Depending on the property and the customer’s request, we can successfully mow checkerboard patterns and diamonds into the grass while still completing proper lawn care. In fact, alternating patterns can help to prevent damage to the turf below.

How often does ER Lawn Care recommend I water my grass?

Depending on the location and the state of your grass, the answer to this question will vary from one customer to the next. If you’re not sure how often you should water your grass, speak with one of our representatives to talk about your lawn’s specific condition or check out our blog post on the matter.
