Once we’ve confirmed your order, we will send you an onboarding email with instructions on how to access our client portal. This portal helps you interact with our staff and keep your services all in one place. You’ll also get a notification of when you can expect your first service to begin.

Please note that all orders placed outside of regular business hours will be processed the next business day. In addition, properties exceeding half an acre require a custom quote. This applies to commercial properties as well.

When does a mowing season begin and end each year?

Mowing season begins in the first few weeks of April each year. The last mowing services typically happen in the first or second week of November, depending on each property’s circumstances.
Once our mowing season is complete, we attend to customers signed up for leaf removal services to prepare for the winter weather ahead.

What is the typical mowing schedule?

ER Lawn Care mows at least once every 7 days during the springtime as your lawn grows. When the summer heat begins, we delay our mowing to a 7-14 day cycle. As the leaves fall, we return to our 7-day schedule until we wrap up mowing services in November.

When rainy conditions exist, our mowing schedule can be delayed up to 2 days, depending on the weather.

If you are members of our Fertilizer program and water your grass consistently, our services include mowing every 7 days.

When does ER Lawn Care perform the first in-season service?

Depending on when you complete the sign-up process, we aim to perform our first service within 24-72 business hours.

Part of our onboarding process includes locating your property and integrating it with our existing route. Your mowing day can fall between Monday and Friday, depending on what other properties we service in that area. Though we estimate our time of service in the beginning, this timeframe can be solidified once we determine how it fits into our established routine.

What time can I expect mowing to begin?

Typically, local laws require us to refrain from mowing before 7:00 a.m. due to noise ordinances. Our mowing schedule begins at or shortly before 7:30 a.m. on most days.

What is the ideal length of cut grass?

At ER Lawn Care, we set our mower decks to a height of 3.5 to 4 inches, depending on the season. For example, we use a deck height of 3.5 inches from April to May and the middle of October through the end of November. In June and the remaining summer months, we increase that deck height to 4 inches.

A mower deck height that’s too short can scalp the turf beneath the grass and cause lasting damage. Cutting more than one-third of the grass at a time can stress the grass out tremendously. At the same time, grass that’s too tall is susceptible to both disease and further weed growth.

As such, we’ve found that 3.5 to 4 inches is an ideal cutting height for all-season care.

What mowing equipment does ER Lawn Care use?

ER Lawn Care prefers Encore mowing machines. These machines are the best for leaving those tell-tale stripes in your grass that define a well-manicured lawn, such as those you would see at the Royals Stadium.

The size and weight of these mowers are also appropriate for performing lawn maintenance without permanently weighing down the grass or damaging existing irrigation systems.

Depending on the property and the customer’s request, we can successfully mow checkerboard patterns and diamonds into the grass while still completing proper lawn care. In fact, alternating patterns can help to prevent damage to the turf below.

How often does ER Lawn Care recommend I water my grass?

Depending on the location and the state of your grass, the answer to this question will vary from one customer to the next. If you’re not sure how often you should water your grass, speak with one of our representatives to talk about your lawn’s specific condition or check out our blog post on the matter.

Does ER Lawn Care bag/remove grass clippings?

ER Lawn Care does not currently provide grass/clippings removal as part of our contracted services agreement. However, we do provide removal upon request at a starting rate of $120 per instance. Inquire with one of our staff members if you would like to include this service, as larger properties will require an additional fee.

To address the clippings created by mowing, our equipment features specific mulching blades. These blades cut the clipped grass into the smallest of pieces that are then reintroduced to the soil to help naturally fertilize. This cuts down on the number of clippings resulting from a mowing service.

Do I have to be present for ER Lawn Care's mowing service?

We do not require that you be present for our mowing service. Through our client portal, you can easily reference the day and time we plan on completing our services to plan accordingly.

What should I do to prepare my lawn before ER Lawn Care mows?

Preparing your lawn for our mowing services shouldn’t take a lot of time or effort. We ask that you remove any toys, hoses, or other objects from the lawn that might interfere with mowing.

Please remember to unlock any necessary gates to access your lawn as well. You should also be sure to refrain from watering the day we are scheduled to mow.

At the same time, we know that life can happen. That’s why we carefully inspect all our properties before we even pull our mowers off the trailer. We may move/mow around any objects from your lawn at our discretion. ER Lawn Care is not responsible for any damage done to objects remaining on the lawn prior to mowing services.

What are ER Lawn Care's billing terms?

ER Lawn Care requires payment in full upon sign-up for services less than $2,000. With our receipt of this payment, we begin your contract, schedule your services, and secure the materials necessary for completing the work.

How can I schedule notifications?

Our client portal makes it easy to schedule notifications for upcoming service visits. Navigate to your dashboard to see past services information as well as any scheduled services.

What is aeration/seeding?

Aeration describes the process of removing plugs/cores from your lawn to help the roots gain access to the nutrients they need to survive. A machine similar to a lawn mower removes these plugs from the lawn.

Seeding takes advantage of the aeration process to bulk up your lawn’s growth and fill in any patchy spots.

Why does ER Lawn Care aerate and seed?

We aerate and seed to reduce soil compaction and thatch buildup, which can cause stunt the growth of your lawn. The cores/plugs removed by the aerating machine allow more oxygen to flow through the soil. Seeding helps to promote fresh growth for areas that are bald and patchy.

When is the best time to aerate/seed?

Early fall is the best time of year to aerate/seed cool-season grass.

Does ER Lawn Care require that I cut the grass before or after the aeration/seeding service?

No, you do not need to cut the grass before or after we aerate.

Seeds, according to grass type.

We recommend you water at least 2-3 times per day for short increments of 15 minutes after aeration/seeding. This is referred to as “controlled watering” and can help germinate the seeds without washing them out. Once you see growth, you can resume your normal watering schedule.

If you are just aerating your lawn, you do not need to switch over to a controlled watering schedule.
